The Science of Sputtering

Understanding how nano-ceramic sputtering delivers massive solar heat shielding without cellular interference.

Why Sputtered Ceramic Performs Better

Conventional window tints are manufactured by applying chemical dyes to cheap polymer sheets. Under direct sunlight, these chemical dyes decompose, causing the film to turn purple, bubble, and lose its heat rejection capabilities within a year.

Cool Guard utilizes a high-tech vacuum sputtering process. Gaseous ions bombard a target source (zirconium nitride ceramic), spraying atoms evenly onto a heavy-duty polyester membrane. These embedded particles are chemically inert, ensuring they never fade, bubble, or decompose.

Breakdown of Film Composition

Our window films are engineered with 5 discrete functional layers combined into a single 2.0 Mil high-durability sheet.

1. Scratch Coat

An outer protective glaze that prevents surface scratching from rolling car windows up and down, keeping the glass looking clear.

2. Ceramic Layer

Embedded nano-ceramic sputtering which acts as the thermal firewall, deflecting infrared radiation while maintaining high light transmission.

3. UV Block Layer

Integrated ultraviolet absorbers that intercept up to 99% of harmful UVA and UVB solar wavelengths, protecting passengers and dashboard materials.

Metal-Free Signal Clearance

Older metallic window tints reflect heat by using embedded aluminum or bronze particles. However, these metal layers act like a Faraday cage, blocking mobile phone signals, satellite GPS navigation, and Fastag RFID scanners.

Because Cool Guard's nano-particles are completely non-metallic and ceramic-based, they are radio-frequency neutral. This ensures your cellular connection, mapping directions, and toll-gate scanners operate at peak speed.
